Legal metrology licenses

For measuring and weighing devices, there are particular licensing and operating procedures that are part of Legal Metrology. This includes producing, importing, marketing, and maintaining measuring instruments and related machinery. Businesses using these procedures must submit updates through the Legal Metrology departments on a regular basis and renew their licenses. The agency grants licenses to producers, dealers, and repairers of measurement and weighing instruments, among other organizations. 1. Legal Metrology Licensing and Registration of Manufacturers, Dealers, and Repairers: Weights and measure merchants, repairers, and makers must apply to the Controller at Legal Metrology for a license according to the Legal Metrology Act. This process is supervised by the inspector within their jurisdiction. An application for a license renewal must be sent to the Controllers at least thirty days prior to the expiration of the present license.

   • The product name, or the product undergoing import or pre-packaging.
   • It is necessary to indicate the label that includes the owner's details, a list of directors, and partners.
3. For goods that are packaged or repacked, mandatory information is needed.
   • The manufacturer's or packer's name and address.
   • The package should list the net weight quantity, manufacture month, and year in numerical order.
   • Bring up the Maximum Retail Price, or MRP.
   • Net material is clearly marked in the package's main location.
