In India, newspapers are the major source of advertising revenues, especially vernacular newspapers. The main example of such newspapers is Times of India and Hindustan Times that comes under the top 10 newspapers. The reason why these newspapers are ahead is the literacy rate. Following are the steps for the registration:
STEP 1.
The first and foremost step to propose the name of the newspaper that will be further verified by the Registrar of Newspaper for India.
Afterward, an application is required to be made for title verification that will contain:

All this information must be submitted to the concerned District Magistrate.
STEP 3.
You can also file an online application for title verification with the RNI.
STEP 4.
Now, first of all, the District Magistrate verifies the credentials of the applicant and then forward the application to the RNI for checking the availability.
STEP 5.
Thereafter, RNI issues a letter of title verification to notify the District Magistrate and publisher about the availability of the title.
STEP 6.
Besides, a declaration is required to be filed by the publisher with the District Magistrate to start publishing the newspaper.
This RNI registration form or application can be submitted to the RNI – along with the following:
Within 45 days from the date of the authentication of the declaration, the first issue of the newspaper should be brought in case periodicity is daily or weekly. Whereas in the case of other periodicals, the newspaper should be brought out within 90 days.
