PRAN full form is Permanent Retirement Account Number. It is a 12-digit unique number provided to each subscriber under NPS after completion of the registration formalities of PRAN. Moreover, this card looks like a document that contains the PRAN, subscribers name, father’s name, Photograph and signature/thumb impression. It is basically issued to persons who are registered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS).
National Pension Scheme is governed by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). NSDL and PFRDA came into an agreement together for setting a Central Book Keeping Agency (CRA) wherein all the details of members of NPS are stored. Therefore, NSDL is an authenticated official website to issue PRAN cards.
