The Andhra Pradesh Encumbrance Certificate can be attained within a day.
The applicant can find encumbrance online via Andhra Pradesh Registration Department online portal. Note: Online e-EC is available for transaction post 01-01-1983 only. Therefore in case, anyone needs EC before 01-01-1983, they must approach the SRO office concern. e-EC can be searched by Document Number or Memo Number.
For doing an online EC search, go and visit the AP IGRS page and select the encumbrance (EC) option. Then click the “Submit” button on the next page after reading the guidelines.

The procedure for applying the encumbrance certificate via the MeeSeva franchise are as follows:
Step 1: The applicant is required to visit the nearest MeeSeva Franchise.
Step 2: The applicant is required to submit an application in the prescribed format for the encumbrance certificate at MeeSeva Centre. Offer details of the document, year of registration, and SRO name. Note: Mention the mode of delivery of EC.
Step 3: Complete the payment of the applicable fee to the MeeSeva operator for processing the encumbrance application.
Step 4: The encumbrance certificate request will be processed online via AP Registration Department. The applicable will get the updates of the EC application status via SMS.
Step 5: The authority that is concerned, i.e., SRO, will process the encumbrance certificate online and after successful verification, Sub Registrarofficer will approve the encumbrance certificate request.
Once the request for an Encumbrance certificate is accepted, you will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number as the application has been approved.
Once SRO approves the request, the Encumbrance Certificate would be dispatched via courier from the franchise to the address if the Delivery Type is Speed Post Local or Non-Local.
In case delivery type in Manual, then the applicant may collect the Encumbrance Certificate from MeeSeva franchise where they have applied for the certificate.
The procedure for downloading EC online via AP IGRS web portals:
Step 1: Visit Andhra Pradesh Registration and Stamp Department official webpage.
Step 2: Choose the Online EC option from the homepage. There will appear a new page.
Step 3: In case the person who is applying is not a member of IGRS, then they have to register in the portal for downloading EC. Click on the “Click here” option to register yourself.
Step 4: On the new page, the applicant has to enter the following details. Once you enter the details, click the “Submit” button further to click here option.
Step 5: The recipient will get the user credential via SMS to the registered mobile number. Fill in the username and password. The applicant will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number, enter the OTP and Captcha. Click “Submit”.
Step 6: After the applicant login to the page, from the public online services, choose the encumbrance certificate.
Step 7: When the new page appears, enter the following details to get encumbrance and click “Submit”.
Step 8: Details regarding the property will appear, in that click “Next”. Signed or unsigned EC options will be displayed on the next page.
Step 9: choose the unsigned certificate option from this page, the link will redirect to the next page.
Step 10: the applicant may find an option “select all” on the left side of the page, click on that.
All the details regarding the property will be displayed. Click “Print” to download the Encumbrance Certificate.
